Make me stronger and stronger ...

Lest the world think I'm not over my previous rant, allow this little number to sing my triumph.

Did you want that with a side of eff you?

I may regret this post, primarily b/c I'm "in the moment" so this may be one of those times that I look back and go "eww! why did I write that?" but I need perspective and I'm hopeful that venting via blog will help ... maybe.

My gripe: Being nice, gets you no where.

I should have remembered that I already learned this lesson in the late 1990's during my stint in the restaurant industry. The person that was the uber prick/witch usually got what they wanted b/c people were eager to appease their ridiculous demands and pacify them sufficiently to not have to deal with them.

I have a little spot of insecurity b/c I often, from my perspective, get misjudged. I'm not overly affectionate but I'm not sans emotions. I'm straight forward but with a smile. I'm understanding and can be compassionate. I have high expectations. As I've mentioned before, I generally like people until they give me reason(s) not to. Apparently I need a new M.O.

Being "nice" and giving people the benefit of the doubt, gets you nowhere. Do I sound bitter? Maybe to some, but really I'm just tired of being a doormat. If I'm "mean" or take on a more stern tone than I'd like, then I get what I want; things get accomplished. This rant is precipitated by my professional life more than my personal life. But regardless, both selves live in the same world, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before there is bleed over.

Discourteously,
CoCo

I'm such a DB

It's not the "DB" you're thinking. I mean Delinquent Blogger. :(
So sad. Yet so true.

I'm aware of it, and will work on it.

The world is perfectly balanced with opposition in all things, so to counter my "debbie downer" confession, I'd like to bubble things up (pun intended) and pass along a terrific find.

Introducing Diet Coke, 16 oz. cans. Yes, my drink fridge is stocked for the summer. My mother is the real enabler, as she initially brought these to my attention. Thanks Mom! You're always looking out for me. ;)
