Those that know me understand (or at least tolerate) my ability (better, preference) to walk the line that fringes on taciturn and reticent, especially when it comes to what others might consider "important" details about my life. I am not intentionally coy; I feel that it is my natural reaction. It's somewhat of an entertaining juxtaposition of my introverted and extroverted self. Not that people have that much time or care to be so contemplative about me. :)
Disclaimer aside, I am happy to report that life in CA has brought new layers of challenges and has proven to be a self revealing time. I am confident that being pushed out of my comfort zone, as upleasant as it may be at times, is a valuable experience for which I am thankful.
Please be assured that if there is anything "lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy" to report, I will do so.
And back to lock-down mode ...

Return to Innocence
This Christmas has been cylical in the sense that I have reverted back to my child like ways - I eat, I sleep. That's pretty much been it. Amazing how those "bare necessities" make one a very happy girl. (I should mention that some credit should be given to the unconditional love of family, competitive game nights, and the endorphine high that comes from a good run!)

MRF (or Mr. F)
I am long over due on updates, but that should be indicative of my (usual?) pace of life. I am adjusting back to East Coast time and thankful that I get to spend these next few days with (most of) my family.
A few highlights from my flight today:
1) it was direct (dovetailed with "cheap" parking = my secret love for LGB)
2) Jet Blue (read: direct tv. read further: Laguna Beach marathon!) never been so thankful to be done (almost 10 years done) with HS.
3) getting to be "that" girl - the one, on the plane, that busted out with season 3 of Arrested Development and laughed out loud, so much so that you'd think it was my own private jet. Thankfully my seat buddy approved of my selection so I know at least he was not annoyed. I caught him diverting his focus from Mr. Colbert to Mr. Bateman.
4) Lex - the cutest 8 week old English Bulldog pup. Apparently there were 6 dogs on our flight, but Lex stole my heart.
5) A familiar face - one of the Associates from the firm where I work was on my flight. My small bladder, better my ridiculous liquid consumption, provides me the opportunity to walk the plane and see faces as I head back to the bathroom. Michael was in the last seat, and grew up in Northern Virginia. I enjoy seeing people out of context.

Ahoy I sail ... I just let the boat do all the work
As Madonna would say, Holiday! Celebrate!
My "first" solo function with the Firm was our Holiday Party, aboard the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. Overall, it was a successful (and FUN) night. We had close to 550 attendees and after the managing partner said, "Corey, you throw one hell of a party!", I knew I wasn't getting fired. :)

Lauren, Judy, Erin, Amanda, and Me - aboard the Queen Mary for KMOB Holiday Party (12/16/06)
We had ice sculpture center pieces (if only I had the one with my co-worker trying to lick the snowflakes!)
My favorite part of the floral arrangements were the pomegranents mixed into the assortment.
